As for the filtration media, the carbon layers should be replaced every 5 years.
And the Anthracite, Quartz Sand and Special Stone layers should be replaced every 10 years.
Water filter maintenance: How to clean and maintain my outdoor water filter
The filters for ER-Series are easy to maintain.
Depending on usage and water condition, just backwash once a week.
The valves on the water filter are labelled 1, 2, and 3 so that you can refer to them easily.
To do a backwash,
Step 1: Close Valve 2
Step 2: Close Valve 1
Step 3: Open Valve 3
Step 4: Flush out the accumulated sediments and rust until it is clear
Step 5: Close Valve 3
Step 6: Open Valve 1
Step 7: Open Valve 2
